UPDATE: We are now at 80% of our goal!

For many May is a month of pollen allergies, Cinco de Mayo, and indy racing, but there's also a lot happening in the world of geekdom. From Free Comic Book Day and Towel Day to Star Wars Day (May The Fourth Be With You Always), this is always a big month for bonding with our fellow nerds.

Yesterday included the launch of an exciting new team of which I'm so proud to be a part: MEDIC!, "a group of geeky, intelligent, powerful, and inspiring women who have come together to help causes close to their hearts." (x) The team includes cosplayers, actors, writers, gamers, journalists, artists, and many more, joining together to make a difference under the leadership of Team Captain Eve Beauregard.

As an opening project for the group we are taking part in Kiss Goodbye To MS, a charity initiative that raises funds for multiple sclerosis research (prevention, treatment, and a cure). At the time of writing this event has raised a whopping total of $116,238 towards its $800,000 goal for 2014!

The current line-up features Eve Beauregard, Rae Johnston, Ardella Cosplay, Hikari Kat, Variable, Echoing Artemis,Diana Daring, Foxxi Loxxi Cosplay, Siren's Belle, TJ Cosplay, Flynn Malice, and In Stitches Cosplay donning red lipstick for the month of May, with many more women taking part in this project yet to be announced. (x)
